New Actilume system offers major energy savings, maximum comfort and a tool to combat climate change
Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) has announced the introduction of ActiLume, a new easy to install and use, fluorescent lighting dimming system for offices that offers maximum comfort and automatic energy/ CO2 savings of up to 75%. ActiLume switches the lights in an office automatically on and off on occupancy and regulates the lights down when enough daylight enters the room. A simple push on the sensor is enough to set up the system for open plan or cell office environments. This means installers and end-users do not have to worry about complicated programming or manual controls.
In addition to being easy to install the ActiLume system also offers the opportunity for major energy and cost savings along. These savings of up to 75% will also have a significant impact on the reduction of CO2 emissions and help towards the reaching of Kyoto targets.
ActiLume consists of a sensor and controller unit, built in a luminaire and ready to use. It contains three sensors: a light sensor for daylight depending regulation, a movement detector for occupancy control and an IR receiver for remote control. The lighting can also be controlled manually, either by a wired switch with a single push switch, (Touch and Dim), or with a remote control. The system is operated with Philips HF-REGULATOR II ballasts.
